We at Acuity Home Watch recommend regular home inspections to safeguard your residence. The National Home Watch Association describes Home Watch as “a visual inspection of a home or property looking for obvious issues”. While a neighbor’s presence may provide peace of mind, it may be a false sense of security with limited effectiveness. Most insurance companies highly recommend at least weekly inspection visits. It is not unusual for an insurance claim to be denied because your seasonal home was vacant and not monitored regularly. We design a specific checklist for each property using our reporting system, QRIDIT. Our client’s input is integral in forming their checklist since each and every home is distinctively different. The list below is an abbreviated look at some of the things we do.
Our regular, comprehensive home watch inspections may include some of the following:
Exterior check of grounds, landscape, pests, lawn and sprinklers
Remove newspapers, flyers, check mailbox
Visual exterior check
Check all windows and doors for damage and ensure they are locked
Visual check for signs of water damage, mold and mildew
Check the water heater
Check for signs of insects, pests and rodents
Verify AC and humidistat settings; adjust as necessary
Lanai and Pool Area
Check water level and condition of water
Check all exterior surroundings of pool area
Enable security system, lock doors
Turn OFF water supply
This is a general Home Watch Checklist. Exact services may vary by property/residence and homeowner requests. Contact us for more information catered to your specific needs.
